in figure 1

the g (or y) = 100°

why? Because it form's alternate interior angles with the angle Which has value of 100° and hence are equal.

Now notice, the angle g (or y) and x and are in the same line.

and thus applying linear pair,

=> × + g(or y) = 180°

x + 100 = 180°

x = 80°

Now for the second one,

y = 110° (cointerior angles)

to find x, first find the angle Which forms linear pair with it. It is 80° (again cointerior angles)

x + other angle = 180°

x + 80 = 180

x = 100°
