5x=37+3

5x=40

x=50/5=8

2(y+3)=20

2y+6=20

2y=20-6

2y=14

Solution :-

Given ,

  • Type of quadrilateral :- Rectangle

We need to find ,

  • The value of x & y

As we know that ,

  • Lengths & breadths are equal for a rectangle.

So ,

5x - 3 = 37 . eq ( 1 )

2 ( y + 3 ) = 20 . eq ( 2 )

By simplifying the both equations we cna find the value of x & y

Equation ( 1 ) :-

⇒ 5x - 3 = 37

⇒ 5x = 37 + 3

⇒ 5x = 40

⇒ x = 40 ÷ 5

x = 8

Equation ( 2 ) :-

⇒ 2 ( y + 3 ) = 20

⇒ 2y + 6 = 20

⇒ 2y = 20 - 6

⇒ 2y = 14

⇒ y = 14 ÷ 2

y = 7

Hence , x = 8 & y = 7
