When a cell is placed in hypotonic solution the water or solvent molecules move from the solution into the cell causing the bulging of the cell..

When the cell is placed in hypertonic solution the water in the cell goes out into the solution due to exosmosis..

If the cell is placed in isotonic solution the exchanges molecules will happen at equilibrium

Hope this helps you..

When kept in hypotonic solution, the cell will swell and become turgid. Because the water potential outside the cell will be lesser than that of inside the cell. ... When a plant cell placed in a hypotonic solution then it takes up water due toosmosis &swelling of cell occur .
in isotonic solution no change will occur
