  • let, aman's son age be X
  • then aman's age be 3x

ten years ago the age was :-

  • aman's age = 3x - 10
  • aman's son age = X - 10

now, according to question

\dashrightarrow \rm3x - 10 = 5(x - 10) \\

\dashrightarrow \rm3x - 10 = 5x - 50 \\

\dashrightarrow \rm3x - 10 + 50 = 5x \\

\dashrightarrow \rm3x + 40 = 5x \\

\dashrightarrow \rm 40 = 5x = 3x \\

\dashrightarrow \rm40 = 2x \\

\dashrightarrow \rm \: x = \cancel \frac{40}{2} \\

\dashrightarrow \rm \: x = 20 \\

hence, aman's son's age is 20 years

and aman's age is 3 × 20 = 60 years
