Metamorphosis is the transformation of the larva into adult through drastic changes measurements beyond and morphe means form.

Examples are frog , insects etc.

The term metamorphosis is not used while describing Human Development because of the following reasons

1. Humans belong to viviparous category

2. Only internal fertilization takes place.
