● Explaination -
For parallel combination, effective resistance is -
R = 10×10 / (10+10)
R = 5 ohm
Equivalent resistance across circuit is -
R' = 20 + 5
R' = 25 ohm
Current in circuit is -
I = 2.5/25
I = 0.1 A
Voltage across 20 ohm resistor,
V = 20×0.1
V = 2 V
Therefore, ammeter will read 0.1 A and voltmeter will read 2 V across 20 ohm resistor.
