let the required angle be x

let the other angle be (90 - x) as it is the complement of the other

(90-x) ------------------ (1)

90-x = (4/5)x

taking 5 to other side (cross multiply )
we get

450 - 5x = 4x
450 = 9x

x = 450/9

x = 50
° -------------- (2)

subsituting 2 in 1 we get

(90-x )

(90 - 50)

=40
°

there fore the angles are 40 and 50

Answer- Complementary angles = 90°

Let 1 angle be x.

Its complement = 90°-x

Now, 90°-x=4/5x

Cross multiply 5 on both sides..

⇒ 450°- 5x= 4x.

⇒450°=9x

⇒x= 450°÷9

⇒x= 50°

So, complement of 50°= 90°-50°

                                    = 40°

So, the angles are 40° and 50°..
