let x be the money distributed between A and B

given that A got 60% of all the money

⇒ A got 60x/100 = 3x/5 money

now B got the remaining money

remaining money = x - 3x/5 = 2x/5

given that B got 1170 less than A

⇒ A - 1170 = B

but we know that A = 3x/5 and B = 2x/5

substituting A and B values in the equation A - 1170 = B

⇒ 3x/5 - 2x/5 = 1170

⇒ x/5 = 1170

⇒ x = 5850

so the money distributed between A and B is 5850 rupees
