Bonjour!

Let wealth for 1st child be x and 2nd child be y.

x + y = 40000 …(1)
x = y + 10000 …(2)

Putting value of (2) in (1)
y + 10000 + y = 40000
2y = 40000 - 10000
2y = 30000
y = 15000

Putting value of y in (2)
x = 15000 + 10000
x = 25000

⏩ Hence, x = 25000 and y = 15000

money of 1st one is x
money of 2nd one is y
as total amount is 40000
x+y=40000
x = 10000 + y
10000 + y + y = 40000
by solving it we get
2y = 30000
y =15000
as x is 10000+y
therefore
x = 10000 + 15000 \\ x = 25000

1st will get 15000 and the other 25000
