No. of moles of ethanol in 138 g of ethanol =    \frac{138}{46} = 3 moles

No. of moles of water in 126 g of water =   \frac{126}{18} =  moles

Mole fraction = \frac{No.\:\:of\:\:moles\:\:of\:\: compound\:\:A}{No.\:\:of\:\:moles\:\:of\:\: compound\:\:A+No.\:\:of\:\:moles\:\:of\:\: compound\:\:B}

Mole fraction of water = \frac{7}{7+3} = \frac{7}{10} = 0.7

Mole fraction of ethanol = \frac{3}{7+3} = \frac{3}{10} = 0.3
