As given,

East will be represented by a positive integer

Then however, we know that east and west are opposite directions to each other

So, west will be represented by a negative integer

Now let's look at the question,

They have given that the initial point of Rita is 'A'

From which she mives to east at 20 km

That point is given as 'B'

So, now Rita is again going back which is west

As said above we are considering west to be negative

So, Rita is going 30 km west

And then she stops which i consider to be as 'C'

Now, let's calculate -

She is going 20 km east = ( +20)

Then 30 km west = (-30)

=> 20 km - 30 km = - 10 km

So , Rita is -10 km far from her initial point

( She is 10 km west from her initial point )
