so
DE=1/2×BC
DE/BC=1/2
and
since D is the midpoint of AB
DB=1/2×AB
DB/AB=1/2
since RHS of eq 1 and 2 are equal LHS are also equal
DE/BC=DB/AB
Cross multiplication
AB/DB=BC/DE
so
DE=1/2×BC
DE/BC=1/2
and
since D is the midpoint of AB
DB=1/2×AB
DB/AB=1/2
since RHS of eq 1 and 2 are equal LHS are also equal
DE/BC=DB/AB

AB/DB=BC/DE
