Fir instance, suppose that you want to become an astrophysicist in NASA instead if ISRO.
The main reason for them to think so may be that ISRO is many years back than NASA, and yes that's ture.....
I will tell them, if you will go to NASA, and likewise every Indian child would go to NASA, then how is ISRO supposed to develop? If there would be no one working in ISRO, it would ultimately collapse. And who should be blamed for that? Should the government be blamed? Or ISRO itself because it doesn't have all those facilities that they have at NASA.
No, neither of them should be blamed. You should be blamed for that, because you are the one who chose NASA over ISRO.
I would add another point... "Necessity is the mother of invention". If most of the things are already at NASA, they already know many things... then what would you do there?? It's then much better to stay in your own country and make your life interesting.
Another point I can tell them is.... Suppose you belong to a poor family and your mother is not able to provide you with all your necessities, what would you do? Huh? Leave her in that position and go to some rich family to ask for your necessities? will you do that? You should work hard and try to remove the poverty from your own family and bring your family in such a condition that they can live a prosperous life.
So, please think about what I just said and I believe that you'll surely change your mindset.
