Answer: 4.8 metre per second

Explanation: The linear speed of a particle is given by the formula |V| = ωr

NOTE that here the angle between the angular velocity (ω) and the radial vector (R) is 90 °, then I was able to write the above equation Simply ; otherwise the Velocity vector (V) would have been the cross product of the other two quantities.

Now Calculation :-

Angular Velocity ( ω ) = 240 RPM

                           → ω = 240 x (1/60) rotations per second

                           → ω = 4 rotations per second

Radial Distance of the particle ( r ) = 120 cm = 1.2 metre

So, |V| = ωr

→|V| = 4 x 1.2

→|V| = 4.8 metre per second
