Explanation:How did this happen refers to how handicraft production increased in the twentieth century. This happened partly because of technological advancements. The handicraft industry started using these technologies. By the second decade of twentieth century i.e. from 1920 the weavers started using fly shuttles in their work. Due to this productivity increased without increase in costs. Thus,productivity increased. By 1940 many weavers started using fly shuttles in some places the number of weavers using fly shuttles was 70 to 80 percent. There were many other small innovations that helped weavers but flying shuttle was the biggest invention for weavers.
