For an A.P , the first term is 14 and the last term is 212. If sum of these terms is 11300, find the number of terms and common difference and

- Given : first term ,a = 14 ; last term, an = 212 ;
sum of n terms Sn = 11300;
- we know sum of n terms ,
Sn = n/2 × ( first term + last term)
so , 11300 = n/2 × ( 14 + 212 )
=> n = (2 × 11300) / ( 14 + 212 )
=> n = 100
- therefore number of terms of the AP is 100.
100th term = a + (100-1)×d ;
11300 = 14 + 99×d
d = 114.
- the common difference is 114.
