Let x = 0.488888... --------(1)

Multiplying both sides by 10 since one number is repeating.

10 × x = 10 × 0.488888...

10x = 4.88888... ---------(2)

Subtract equation (1) from equation (2)

10x - x = 4.88888... - 0.488888...

9x = 4.4

x = 4.4/9

Hence, 0.488888... in the form of p/q is = 4.4/9

(ii) 0.3567676767...

Let x be = 0.35676767... --------(1)

Multiplying both sides by 100 as 2 numbers are repeating.

100 × x = 100 × 0.35676767...

100x = 35.67676767... --------(2)

Subtract equation (1) from equation (2)

100x - x = 35.676767... - 0.35676767...

99x = 35.32

x = 35.32/99

Hence, p/q form of 0.35676767... is 35.32/99
