Physical change

  1. No new substances are formed.
  2. Change is temporary and can be reversed with few exceptions.
  3. The mass of the substance does not change after a physical change.
  4. The amount of energy needed to bring the physical change is equal to the amount of energy needed to reverse the change.

Chemical change

  1. New substances are formed.
  2. Changeis permanent and cannot be reversed.
  3. After a chemical change the mass of individual substance changes.
  4. The energy needed to break the bonds in the reactant is not equal to the energy released in forming of newborns in the product in some energy is released or absorbed during the change.
