area of square=1/2(product of diagonals)
since it is a kind of rhombus
ar(sq)=1/2*(72*72)
=5184/2
=2592cm^2

angel8976: what is a meaning of * this

Let the sides i.e. AB,BC,CD and AD be x.

So,

In triangle (ABC) — (AB)^2 + (BC)^2 = (AC)^2 (Pythagoras theorem)

x^2 + x^2 = 72^2

2x^2 = 72 × 72

x^2 = 5184 ÷ 2

x^2 = 2592cm^2

x = √(2592)cm

Side of the square i.e. AB = BC = CD = AD = √(2592)cm.

Area of the square = (Side)^2

=√(2592)^2
=2592 cm^2
