Do the bracket first by rule.
(7/10 - 1/4) which can be done by just cross Multiplying the numerator and denominator as follows:
Multiply numerator of first term by second terms denominator and second terms numerator by first terms numerator (put the same sign between the products).And finally divide the whole product by product of both denominators.
Like:
7/10 - 1/4 can be done as :
(7*4 - 1*10)/ 10*4
Which comes out to be (28-10)/40 = 18/40 = 9/20
Now do the rest of the question similarly,
3/4 + 9/20
= (3*20 + 4*9)/4*20 which is
= (60 + 36)/80
= 96/80= 48/40 = 24/20 = 12/10
== 6/5 which is the answer to the first question.
