SOLUTION ☺️

Let f(x)= x^4 +px^3 + 2x^2 - 3x +q

Given,

=)f(x) is divisible by (x-1)(x+1)

=)f(1)= 0 or f(-1)= 0

When f(1) =0

=)(1)^4 p(1)^3 +2(1)^2 -3(1) +q =0

=) 1+ p +2 -3 +q = 0

=) p+ q= 0............(1)

When, f(-1) = 0

=) (-1)^4 +p(-1)^3 +2(-1)^2 -3(-1) +q=0

=) 1-p+ 2 +3 +q =0

=) -p +q= -6

=) p-q = 6..........(2)

Adding Equation (1) & (2), we get

=) 2p=6

=) p= 6/2= 3

=) p= 3

substitute the value of p in eq^n (1)

=) 3+q= 0

=) q= -3

Hence, p = 3 and q= -3

hope it helps ✔️
