Answer:

1) Let the vectors be x.

Their resultant is also x according to the question

By parallelogram law. r square = a square+b square+2abcos theta

here,x square = x square + x square +2xxcos theta x square

                       = 2x square + 2x square cos (theta) -x square

                       = 2x square cos theta or cos theta

                       = -1/2that is theta

                       =120 degree

(If U did not understand, then refer the attachment)

2) Initial velocity,

ux = 30 m/s i (East)

uy=  40 m/s j (north)

Magnitude of u =

\sqrt{Ux^{2}+2y^{2}  } \\

= \sqrt{30^{2}+ 40^{2} } \\= 50m/s

Direction of u w.r.t x axis, θ = tan-1(4/3) = 53.13

3)

Here A= 30N , B=60N , C=90^°

Let D be the angle between 2 forces. Then tan C =BsinD/A+B cosD

or tan 90^°=60sinD/30+60cosD

or 30+60cosD =0

or cosD=-30/60 =-1/2 =cos120^°

or D=120^°

Effective pulling force is

R= root A^2+B^2+2ABcosD

=root 900+3600+2×30×60 (-1/2)

=30root3N
