a) u = 0 m/s

t = 30 sec

a = 5m/s²

v = u + at

v = 0 + 30×5

v = 150m/sec

v² - u² = 2as

(150)² - 0² = 2 × 5 × s

(150)² = 10s

s = 22500/10

s = 2250 m

speed gained = 150m/sec

distance = 2250m

b) t = 2min = 120 sec

s = 140m

avg speed = total distance/ total time

= 140/120

= 7/6

= 1.17 m/sec

avg velocity =

final displacement - initial displacement/2

since pool is 70m long only...after swimming 140m....the final position will be the same as starting position so 0 displacement

= 0 - 0/2

= 0m/s

Have a great day ahead ☺️
