Explanation:

It explains that the rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to the force acting on it.

 formula:  f ∝ p/t                          (f = force, p = momentum, t = time taken)

           f = k (final momentum - initial momentum)/time taken

           f = k (P₂ - P₁)/t

           f = k (mv - mu)/t     (P₂ = mass ˣ final velocity, P₁ = mass * initial velocity)

           f = k m (v - u)/t        ( m has been taken common )

           f = k m*a                      [ (v - u)/t = a ]

     

   Therefore, f ∝ m*a
