sound = vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard when they reach a person's or animal's ear.

So in this chapter you have to learn some terms.first is sound I.e a form of energy that produces sensation of hearing to our ear.we have 2 types of waves longitudinal and transverse . in longitudinal we have compressions and rarefactions and in transverse we have crest and trough.
Wave: it is a disturbance that makes neighbouring particles move from mean position.
