Answer:

6, 7 and 8

Step-by-step explanation:

We will take the smallest number out of the three consecutive as 'x'.

Then, the next numbers will be x+1 and x+2 since the numbers are consecutive.

Eg: if we take x as 1, x+1 = 2 and x+2= 3.  1,2,3 are consecutive numbers, aren't they?

Now, the equation will be x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 21 as they said that the 3 consecutive numbers add up to 21.

Solving it:

x + x + 1 + x + 2 = 21

  3x + 3             = 21

      3x               = 18

        x                = 6

      x + 1             = 7

      x + 2            = 8

Therefore, the 3 numbers are 6, 7 and 8.

If you add them, you get the sum as 21 as the question says.

Hope this helps...

Let the consecutive odd numbers be x,x+2,x+4
So,
X+x+2+x+4=21
3x+6=21
3x=21-6=15
x=15/3=5
