A projectile is any object that once projected or dropped continues in motion by its own inertia and is influenced only by the downward force of gravity. By definition, a projectile has a single force that acts upon it - the force of gravity.

A body thrown iNR to air with certain velocity, making an angle with the horizontal is called projectile. The path of the projectile is parabola. For a projectile, the horizontal component of velocity is constant. Vertical component of velocity varies from point to point.
