Let the number be x

When 15 is subtracted from the number we get x - 15...

but number reduces to 80 % of itself

=> this means that

x - 15 = 80 % of x

=> x - 15 = ( 80 / 100 ) × ( x )

=> x - 15 = ( 4 / 5 ) × ( x )

=> x - 15 = 4x / 5

on multiplying by 5 both sides

=> 5x - 75 = 4x

=> 5x - 4x = 75

=> x = 75

so , Required number = 75
