As u know Ethyl formate is taken here. Attack
of Grignard reagent is done. As oxygen is more electronegative so bond Will break on it. so oxygen will get negative charge and carbon slightly positive. In CH3MgBr CH3 is slightly negative and MgBr positive. MgBr will move towards and oxygen and CH3 towards carbon. Mg(OH) Br Will get out. Again grignard attack. Same story and finally u Will get Propan-2-ol
