The observations which will be noted as follows:

i) when the north end of the magnet is brought near the coil the Galvanometer's needle shifts towards left for a split second and then comes back to its mean position

ii) When the north pole of the magnet is moved away from the coil the Galvanometer's needle moves towards right, within seconds come back to its mean position .
