Step-by-step explanation:

since by applying pythgoras theorem in your triangle PQR ,yeilds:

(PR)^2 +(QR)^2 =(PQ)^2 (1)

by putting known values

PR=12 and PQ=13 in (1) we get:

(12)^2 +(QR)^2 =(13)^2

144+(QR)^2 =169

this implies that:

(QR)^2 =169-144

(QR)^2 =25

(QR)=(25)^1/2

since we have two values of QR +5 and -5 since side can not be negative

(QR)=+5=5
