In rectangle ABCD draw a diagonal AC
now as angle ADE is a right angle so, AC can be calculated by Pythagoras theorem
(5)²+(12)²=25+144=165
So, AC=13cm.
As point A and C lie on the circle so AC is diameter.
We know that half of the diameter is equal to radius. So radius=13/2=6.5cm
Now, by using the formula area of circle can be calculated.
pie r²=3.14*6.5*6.5= 132.66cm²
Area of rectangle is l*b=5*12=60cm²
So area of shaded region is equal to
area of circle - area of rectangle
=132.66 - 60
=72.66cm²

rose72: ans is 72.665
vmin: yes
vmin: i have taken only two decimal places
vmin: area of circle is 132.665 so subtracting we get 132.665-60=72.665
vmin: Hope u it helped u
rose72: thank you
vmin: welcome
