Let the present age of A be x and B be y.

As per statement, A is 20 years older than B.Thus

x = 20 + y --------Eq 1

5 years ago, A was 3 times old as B. Accordingly, 5 years ago their ages, A's age x - 5 and B's age y - 5

(x - 5) = 3 (y - 5)

x - 5 = 3y - 15

x - 3y = 5 - 15

x - 3y = -10…Eq..2

Substituting value if x from Eq..1 to Eq..2

x - 3y = -10

20 + y - 3y = -10

y - 3y = -20 -10

-2y = -30

2y = 30

y = 30/2

y = 15

Substituting the value of y in Eq..1 to derive value of x

x = 20 + y

x = 20 + 15

x = 35

The present age of A is 35 years and present age of B is 15 years

Ok bruh!
