Hello friend.

We have to divide Divide 104 pencils among three children in the ratio of 1/2:1/3:1/4

ie multiplying by 12 on all sides we get 6:4:3

consider 1st having : 6x pencils, 2nd having : 4x pencils , 3rd having : 3x pencils 

total pencils are 104.

i.e. 6x+4x+3x = 104      =>   13x=104   =>   x=8

means 1st having : 6x pencils = 6 x 8 = 48 pencils

2nd having : 4x pencils = 4 x 8 = 32 pencils

3rd having : 3x pencils  = 3 x 8 = 24 pencils

answer 48,32,24
