1) we need standard meridian for India because the time lapse between various places differ, example the time varies from gujarat and assam for about 2 hours. Hence it would create many problems and hence STANDARD MERIDIAN IS IMPORTANT FOR INDiA>

2)As we see on the global map, Kanyakumari comes closer to the equator as compared to Kashmir, so when the rays of sun(which is very far away from us) comes on Earth, it comes more on Equator than as compared than poles,( as Equator is more outside and is not difficult for the rays to fall by) hence we could hardly feel the variation of day night in Kanyakumari than in Kasmir
