GIVEN,

∠ABD = 3∠DAB

∠BDC = 96°

FIND: ∠ABD

let ∠DAB be x°. According to the question

∠ABD = 3(∠DAB)  = 3(x) = 3x

if ∠BCD = 96°, ∠ADB = 180-96 = 84° (linear pair)

Hence in ΔABD,

we know,

∠ABD = 3x, ∠DAB =x, ∠ADB = 84°

In a triangle the sum of the angles is 180°

hence,

x+3x+84 = 180°

4x+84 = 180

4x = 180-84

4x = 96

x = \frac{96}{4}

x = 24°

therefore,

∠ABD = 3(24) = 72° ∠DAB = 24°

Hope it helps

have a great day
