we know that ;

sum of opposite sides of a die = 7

therefore , from the figure ;

x + 4 = 7

=> x = 3 (1)

and , z + 6 = 7

=> z = 1 (2)

also , y + 2 = 7

=> y = 5  (3)

(x *y ) + (y * z ) - 2 ( z * x ) = ( 3 * 5 ) + (5 *1 ) - 2 (1*3 ) [ from 1 , 2 , 3 ]

                                         = 15 + 5 - 6

                                          = 14
