English education created a sense of inferiorty in the mind of Indians. It made them see western civilisation as superior and destroyed the pride Indians had in their own culture. Mahatma gandhi called this "sinful ".they wanted an education that could help Indian recover their sense of dignity and self respect.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE CAME AS A GUEST BUT DIFFERENCE IS THAT IT IS NOT LEAVING OUR INDIA AND I FEAR IT IS GOING TO BE HERE FOREVER AND ONE DAY WILL TAKE OVER OUR CULTURE. THEREFORE IT REALLY HAS ENSLAVED US.
