•The Rowlatt Act....

The act passed through imperial Legislative Council, in spite of the united opposition by the Indian Community.

It gave the ggovernment enormous powers to repress political activities and allowed the detention of political prisoners, without trial.

It also imposed strict censorship on press.

•Khilafat Movement...

Mahatma Gandhi supported the khilafat movement as he felt it would provide a suitable reason for Hindus and Muslims to unite and becomes allies against the British.

•The Idea of Satyagraha

The Idea was introduced by Gandhiji in the Indian National Movement. It was a method of defiance and protests consisting boycott of British goods ,non payment of taxes and defiance of laws...

•Non cooperation movement...

The movement contributed to the awakening of the masses To economic problem and their political cause, i. e., Imperialism .

People achieved a new sense of confidence where -in lay the strength of the movements.

•Salt March..

Mahatma Gandhi found that salt was a powerful symbol that would unite the nation. On 31st January ,1930 he sent a letter to Lord Irwin stating eleven demands... Some of these demands were reduction of land revenue, imposition of tariff on foreign cloth and abolition of tax on salt.

•Civil Disobedience movement

It is a method of peaceful protest and refusal to comply with certain laws.
