  • 1)x^2+4x+3

where x-1

x=1

p(1)=(1)^2+4(1)+3

=1+4+3

=8

  • 2)x^2+5x+6

where x+2

x=(-2)

p(-2)=(-2)^2+5(-2)+6

=4-10+6

=4-4

=0

  • 3)y^2-4y+12

where y-3

y=3

p(3)=(3)^2-4(3)+12

=9-12+12

=0

  • 4)3m^2-2m-5

where m+3

m=(-3)

p(-3)=3(-3)^2-2(-3)-5

=27+6-5

=28

  • 5)m^3-64

where m-4

m=4

p(4)=(4)^3-64

=0

  • 6)x^3+3x^2+3x+1

where x+1

x=(-1)

p(-1)=(-1)^3+3(-1)^2+3(-1)+1

=-1+3-3+1

=0

  • 7)y^3+2y^2+y+1

where y+2

y=(-2)

p(-2)=(-2)^3+2(-2)^2+(-2)+1
