the traits that are acquired by an organism during its life time do not transfer to their offsprings because these traits do not bring changes in their genes....
for example-swimming is a trait that is aquired during lifetime it will not pass to the offspring as it does not bring any change in the gene....
If any organism gets thin due to starvation this trait will not get transferred to the offspring coz whenever it will get food it will become normal...so this is an acquired trait...
Only the traits which bring changes in dna(gene)will pass on to the offspring....
hope it helps u
