It means that Gandhi ji believed that politics can never be separated from politics as what he think was that politics must involve the ideal paths of all the religion which promote the politics of a country to a greater extend and make the country more 'For the people'. He dreamt of an ideal nation which is free from any sort of disparties and everyone will get all the best things as possible.
He won't focussing on any religion as what he want from religion was its good principles which are required to make a more better nation. So he focusses on the best principles of all religion and then collectively use them to guide the politics.
