denominator is added by 7=x+7

numerator =x

x/(x+7)

2 is subtracted from numerator and 2 is added to denominator

x-2/x+7+2=1/5

x-2/x+9=1/5

multiply

5(x-2)=x+9

5x-10=x+9

5x-x=19

4x=19

x=19/4

original fraction= (19/4)/(19/4+7)=(19/4)/(47/4)=19/47
