Given f(x) = 27x^3 - ax^2 - x + 3

Given x = -1/3 is a zero of the polynomial.

Plug x = -1/3 in f(x), we get

= > 27(-1/3)^3 - a(-1/3)^2 - (-1/3) + 3 = 0

= > -1 - a/9 + 1/3 + 3 = 0

= > -1 + 1/3 + 3 - a/9 = 0

= > 7/3 - a/9 = 0

= > -a = -21

= > a = 21.

Therefore the value of a = 21.

Hope this helps!
