Compare the eqution with

 {ax}^{2} + bx + c

  1. a=1
  2. b= -4

General form of a quadratic equation = x^{2} + ax + b\\

where,

x is a variable, a is cofficient of x, and b is constant

Formula of discriminant = b^{2} - 4ac

a) D=8

b) D = p^{2} - 8q

c) D = -3

d) D = -16

e) D = 16 - 4α

f) D = 16, it is a perfect square.

Hope it helps!
