Answer:

[1]    2x - y = -2

[2]    4x - y = 4

equation [2] for the variable  y

y = 4x - 4

variable  y  in equation [1]

   [1]    2x - (4x-4) = -2

  [1]    -2x = -6

equation [1] for the variable  x

 [1]    2x = 6

  [1]    x = 3

x = 3

y = 4x-4

Use the  x  value to solve for  y

  y = 4(3)-4 = 8

Solution :

{x,y} = {3,8}

x=3

y=8

Solution :-

2x - y = 2

2x = 2 + y

x = 2 + y / 2. ...eq( 1 )

4x - y = 4. ...eq( 2 )

Substituting eq( 1 ) in eq( 2 )

4( 2 + y /2 ) - y = 4

2( 2 + y ) - y = 4

4 + 2y - y = 4

y = 4 - 4

y = 0

Subsitute the value of y in eq( 1 )

x = 2 + 0 / 2

x = 2/2

x = 1

Hence, The value of x and y is 1 and 0.
