First u have u to take the upper rectangle whose lenght = 14cm. and breadth = 5cm.

then apply the formula of area of the rectangle

Length × Breadth

14 cm. × 5 cm.

= 70 cm.²

Then find the are of the smallest rectangle whose

length = 7cm. and breadth = 2 cm.

then apply the formula of area of the rectangle

Length × Breadth

2cm. × 7cm.

= 14 cm.²

then find the area of the rectangle which is left

Length = 14cm. and breadth = 7cm.

Length × Breadth

14cm. × 7cm.

= 98 cm.²

Then add all the areas

area of 1st rectangle + area of 2nd rectangle + area of third rectangle

70 cm.² + 14cm.² + 98cm.² = 182cm.²

so, the total area is 182cm.²
