area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height

base = diameter of semicircle = 14cm

height = radius of semicircle = 7 cm

so, area = 1/2 × 14 × 7 = 49 sq. cm

now

area of semicircle = π×r×r/2

22/7 × 7 × 7 /2

= 77 sq.cm

area not occupied by triangle =

area of semicircle - area of triangle

77 - 49 = 28sq.cm
