let angle ABC be 2x

so,

angle ABE = angle EBC = x

and let angle ACD be 2y

so,

angle ACE = angle ECD = y

so,

angle BCA + angle ACD = 180. ( angle on straight line )

angle BCA + 2y = 180

angle BCA = 180 - 2y

now,

in triangle ACB

angle BAC + 2x + 180 - 2y = 180 ( triangle sum property )

angle BAC = 2y - 2x. ...... ( i )

in triangle ECB

angle BEC + x + 180 -2y +y = 180 ( triangle sum property )

angle BEC = y - x ......... ( ii )

on comparing equation i and ii we can say that

angle BEC = 1 / 2 angle BAC
