Jellyfish tentacles contain specialised cells called cnidocytes. These cnidocytes contain tiny, envenomed harpoon-like structures that fire into the flesh of any organism that comes into contact with them. These projections inject venom into the flesh, which, at the least, will irritate skin, and at the most will cause death

2.The characteristic features of the phylum, Chordata, include the presence of a notochord and paired pharyngeal gill slits. In sub-phylum Vertebrata, the notochord present in embryos gets replaced by a cartilaginous or bony vertebral column in adults. Thus, it can be said that all vertebrates are chordates but all chordates are not vertebrates.
